Remote Port Management Protocol (RPMP) is supposed to provide a solution for those cases in which we are trying to maintain a very secure host, but we cannot afford to unplug it from the network. In other words, RPMP would be able to provide access to a computer running in “lock-down” mode; meaning there are no open ports and the host is rejecting all connections.
